PETRA JEAN PHILLIPSON

Petra Jean is a Sound Healer and a Shamanic Practitioner who has spent the last decade evolving and deepening her practice with Master trainers from around the world. Most recently she has worked with Brooke Medicine Eagle in the art of Moon-time blessing, Sound Healing Practitioner Tutor Training with Simon Heather & Pachacuti Mesa Training with don Oscar Miro Quesedas. Petra is dedicated to walking gently on this Earth, leading Sound Healing workshops, sound meditations, gong baths and Individual sessions that seek to restore a meaningful and expansive relationship between individuals, communities and this planet.

As a Shamanic Sound Healer Petra has lead workshops at Sundara Community, St Thomas' Hospital, Shoreditch House and The Barbican. In a career spanning 30 years she has worked as a composer for Oscar Nominated Film “Barrage”, been filmed as Kasabian’s Priestess in "Bless this acid house”, has had 58 musical releases, with performances at Glastonbury, Jools Holland, St Paul's Cathedral and Stavanga Concert Hall.

MATT HOPWOOD

Matt Hopwood is a Sound and Shamanic practitioner, an Author & Story Keeper. In 2012 he launched the project A Human Love Story that has seen him walk thousands of miles around the UK and journeyed around the world creating deep sharing spaces where people can feel held, share their human stories and be heard, these stories have culminated in three published books and an online audio collection. Through these sharings Matt hopes to help nurture understanding, love and compassion across communities and cultures. Featured on BBC Radio 2 & 4 on numerous occasions and in journals in the US. Matt’s work explores listening as a transformative tool for change. This naturally evolved into training as a Sound Healing Practitioner with the College of Sound Healing and currently as a Shamanic Practitioner.

He is a graduate in Applied Anthropology from Goldsmith’s University, and worked alongside community projects in Kenya, Palestine and Israel. In Palestine Matt worked on a cross-cultural exchange programme between the local indigenous Arab community in Palestine and the community of Brighton and Hove.

MIMI BANKS

Mimi is a sound bath practitioner working from a mindfulness and shamanic perspective.

She has found home and family in Brighton and is a mum to three wonderful neurodivergent young people. With a background in fine art and performance practice, and also in shiatsu massage and movement therapies, she has had a broad career history so far, which has consistently spanned community, therapeutic and creative arts sectors. Mimi was a co-director of an Arts Council funded performance producing organisation for 19 years. She has worked on creative and socially engaged art and performance projects in collaboration with cultural institutions such as the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Tate Britain, The V&A, Latitude Festival, Brighton Festival, National Trust. After 19 years working in the arts, Mimi joined the director team of the Brighton based organisation mASCot - and she is passionate about her work here developing community and social projects that support and celebrate autistic and neurodivergent young people and their families.
